The Montgomery Theatre and Arts Centre is recruiting for a Marketing and Events Assistant to develop the current marketing offer for hires and programmed shows in the main auditorium, studio and events that are being run during the period that the theatre will be closed.
We are looking for a motivated and creative applicant that can assist in the day to day running of the theatre’s marketing as well as bringing new ideas to help The Montgomery meet its aims of being Yorkshire’s leading centre for children and young people.
The ideal candidate will be able to work flexibly with some weekend work to provide support to the events we have booked in until July and for the right candidate there will be opportunities post redevelopment to h
elp relaunch all the social media platforms and create an inspiring and engaging online presence for the theatre.
The Marketing and Events Assistant will be responsible for:
– Taking the lead on marketing for performances and events
– Expanding The Montgomery Theatre and Arts Centre’s reach and potential customer pipeline
– Updating social media and keeping the accounts up to date with show announcements
– Generating content for the social media pages
– Updating event listings
– Contacting press and communicating with local organisations to promote events running
– Providing event support and on the day promotion at some theatre events
– Assisting in communicating to audiences details of the closure period as the theatre undergoes a capital redevelopment
– Generally contributing to the current marketing strategy and help us to develop for the future when we reopen in January 2024
Mandatory
– Excellent verbal and written English skills
– Has experience with creating posts for Social Media
– In depth knowledge of Photoshop and/or Canva
– Literate in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook / Teams
– A good knowledge of Social Media and some demonstrable experience of how to create a cohesive look/ brand (this can be on a personal social media page or in a portfolio)
– Copywriting skills
– A passion for content creation
– A desire to work in the charitable sector
– Can do, pitch in and make it happen, positive attitude
Desirable
– Experience managing small budgets
– Experience using Sharepoint
– TikTok Content Creator
– Understanding of trends that appeal to children/ young people
