Synopsis

Presented by Hallam & Handsworth Theatre Company

This new musical, by the Oscar-winning screenwriter and “Downton Abbey” creator, Julian Fellows, is an adaptation of the 1908 classic children’s novel by Kenneth Grahame.

Featuring Rat, Mole, Mrs Otter, Badger and their many woodland animal friends, this riotous comedy follows the impulsive Mr. Toad whose insatiable need for speed lands him in serious trouble. With his beloved home under threat from the notorious Chief Weasel and his gang of sinister Wild Wooders, Toad must attempt a daring escape leading to a series of misadventures and a heroic battle to recapture Toad Hall.

Come along and join in the excitement as Handsworth and Hallam Theatre Company share this glorious British score by Olivier Award-winning composers and lyricists George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

HHTC have well-earned high reputation for dancing, singing and laughter; and this production, set to delight audiences of all ages, will not disappoint.

This production is presented and promoted by Handsworth and Hallam Theatre Company, a Sheffield Community Partner of The Montgomery.
