Adrian Chiles’s weekly column for the Guardian has gained a cult following for his unique insights into everything from the present tense in history podcasts to his favourite spoon, or the correct duration of a hug.  Join him as he takes us on a bright, bemused tour of British life, delivering offbeat truths and a comforting blast of humour and warmth for baffling times.  Britain’s much-loved broadcaster muses on the sacred and the profane, the whimsical and the bizarre, offering his idiosyncratic take on self-checkouts, speeding tickets, falling into a bed of wild garlic and discovering he has a naked doppelgänger on OnlyFans.

Adrian Chiles is a broadcaster, journalist and columnist. Over his career he has fronted ITV’s football coverage, co-presented Daybreak, launched multiple BBC show including The One Show, and presented several documentaries and documentary series. As a radio presenter Adrian currently hosts Question Time Extra Time and Chiles on Friday, both on 5live. His writing regularly appears in the Guardian.

Books will be on sale at the event and can also be ordered here: https://uk.bookshop.org/lists/off-the-shelf-2024
