A new year marks a new era for The Montgomery and our bright future as part of the Sheffield Theatres family. Tune in as we welcome BBC Look North with reporter Tom Ingall to take a closer look at the £1.5 million capital redevelopment of our beloved theatre.
Joined by Sheffield Theatres Artistic Director Elizabeth Newman and Chief Executive Tom Bird, the report pays homage to our rich history and dedication towards supporting local amateur dramatic companies. Sitting comfortably in our fresh auditorium seating, Elizabeth Newman speaks of the sheer appetite for amateur theatre in Sheffield, with Tom Bird stating the important role The Montgomery plays within the community. Both Elizabeth and Tom highlight the pledge of Sheffield Theatres to uphold the community values of The Montgomery and their mission to support the work we do with our local young people, audiences and visiting companies.
From everyone at The Montgomery, we’d like to thank Tom Ingall and the BBC for paying us a visit and we look forward to the bright future of your community theatre.
Special thanks to Wales Community Theatre Players and the cast of Cinderella.
